March 08, 2012
TROY, N.Y. – Phase II of the South Troy Reinvestment Project will begin on Monday, March 12, marking the start of additional infrastructure improvement efforts in the South Troy community.
The second phase of the South Troy Reinvestment Project will take place on Fourth Street, between Tyler and Van Buren Streets. Among the neighborhood improvements scheduled to take place are: replacing sidewalks, repaving streets, installation of new curbs, new landscaping and tree planting, and new lighting fixtures. The initiative is made possible using more than $2 million in funding from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and other federal sources.
Construction work will begin on Monday, March 12, on Fourth Street between Tyler and Van Buren Streets. The community improvement project will result in temporary detours on Fourth Street, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. While construction takes place, traffic heading north on Fourth Street will be allowed to continue uninterrupted. However, during work hours all traffic heading south on Fourth Street will be detoured at Van Buren and directed onto First Street.
