Campbell Avenue informational meeting set for April 4
March 27, 2012
The City of Troy will host an informational meeting on the Campbell Avenue infrastructure and rehabilitation project on Wednesday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at Franklin Terrace Ballroom. Members of the public – especially Emerald Greens residents and individuals living in the immediate area of Campbell Avenue – are encouraged to attend.
Staff from the City’s Engineering and Public Utilities departments will be joined at the meeting by engineers from Clough Harbor & Associates. At the informational session, staff from the City and engineering firm will report on the overall condition of the area, outline work that has taken place, review future plans, and present estimated timeframes on the various stages of design and construction.
The City issued an emergency declaration on February 23 and closed Campbell Avenue to through traffic after soil testing revealed severely compromised soil conditions caused by Hurricane Irene. Soil testing and sampling conducted over a quarter-mile stretch of road revealed results similar to those shown at the Brunswick Road landslide in 2011. The area of Campbell Avenue between Donegal Avenue and Sherman Avenue is closed to through traffic, however businesses in the immediate area remain open.
Franklin Terrace Ballroom is located at 126 Campbell Avenue. Residents in close proximity to Campbell Avenue will receive additional notice of the meeting from the City Engineer’s office. For further information about the meeting, please call 518-279-7131.
