Troy, NY (March 17) - The Department of Public Works has been able to isolate the initial water main break that disrupted water service to South Troy this morning. Water pressure should return within the next hour. However, water may appear discolored. If residents run their water for 5 minutes or more, the discolored water should pass. No BOIL WATER notice has been issued. Residents do not need to boil water at this time.
As a result of the initial water main break, DPU officials are investigating the possibility of additional, more localized water line disruptions. These disruptions are anticipated to be specific to localized water delivery and residents who may be affected will be notified by city staff knocking on doors.
Updates will continue throughout the day.
