Sidewalk-Work

TROY, NY – The City of Troy Department of Public Works (DPW) is putting your tax dollars to work, issuing the week's weather-contingent schedule for city infrastructure improvement projects.

"Maintaining our roadways is maintaining essential emergency and economic infrastructure, and improves the quality of life experienced by community members of all abilities," said Troy Mayor Wm. Patrick Madden. "As always, my thanks go to the workers of our Department of Public Works, who put themselves in harm's way and make themselves available to respond to emergencies at all hours to ensure our community can dependably rely on safe infrastructure."

DPW announced a preliminary, weather-dependent schedule for paving projects planned for early next week:

Wednesday 8/2/23

Thursday 8/3/23
115th St between 1st Ave – 9th Ave

Milling is a process that removes a portion of the asphalt surface in preparation for future repaving. Paving results in a smooth road surface and safer driving conditions. Due to the nature of the materials involved in roadwork and the conditions needed for proper setting, these projects are highly weather-sensitive and thus this schedule is weather-contingent and subject to change. Work generally begins at 6AM unless noted otherwise.

Motorists accustomed to street parking in these neighborhoods are encouraged to mind posted parking restrictions to avoid costly fines and towing. Commuters should expect to encounter roadwork in the area and are encouraged to seek alternate routes of travel if possible.
