TROY, N.Y. – Troy City Hall announced that garbage and recycling collection will continue during the federal holiday on Monday, October 9, 2023, despite City Hall being closed to the public. Bulk collection, brush and bagged leaf collection will be suspended.

The City of Troy’s Sanitation Department collects and disposes of approximately 14,000 tons of municipal solid waste per year. They collect from the 17,000 residential households and approximately 3,000 business properties in the city per week in a safe, efficient and sanitary manner. Sanitation also collects all recyclable materials such as plastic, glass, metal, paper and yard waste from residential properties in the city. Learn more about the Troy Sanitation Department online
