Underground Utility Work to Result in Road Closures in South Central/Little Italy Neighborhood

Construction Advisory

TROY, N.Y. – The City of Troy announced the continuation of work related to the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the South Central/Little Italy Neighborhood, with underground utility work resulting in road closures this Tuesday and Wednesday. Residents and commuters are encouraged to note street closures and constructions zones related to this work.

On Tuesday, work will begin on Washington Street from Church Street to Hill Street. On Wednesday, work will continue on Division Street from Church Street to 4th Street.

The work is part of a federally-funded CDBG project to improve the quality of life and mobility of Troy residents and families living in this South Central and Little Italy Neighborhoods. The project's underground utility work includes work related to street lighting. This project continues the work already completed last year in South Troy, along 4th Street (Adams St. to Division Street.)

Motorists are asked to slow down in the construction zones, observe all posted traffic and parking restrictions, and watch for flaggers and equipment operating in the street right-of-way areas.

For more information on the South Central/Little Italy Neighborhood Reinvestment Project, please contact the Department of Housing & Community Development at (518) 279-7150.
