TROY, N.Y. – Troy Mayor Patrick Madden and Deputy Mayor Christopher Nolin announced the recently-renovated South Troy Pool will open this Friday, June 30 for use over the July 4 holiday.
“As climate change continues to result in hotter summers, I am proud that our city continues to offer residents a public pool so families can stay cool, play, and learn lifelong skills together,” said Troy Mayor Wm. Patrick Madden. “I encourage families of all abilities to take advantage of Troy’s many aquatic recreational features.”
The South Troy swimming pool is open to the public every summer, with open swim hours held daily from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Free children's swim lessons will be available at the South Troy Pool in the mornings from 10 am to noon for beginners and advanced swimmers. To register your child, please contact the South Troy Swimming Pool staff at 518-270-5014 or register in-person.
In addition to a public swimming pool, Troy offers six spray pads and a splash pad. These pads offer more opportunities for inclusive play and are accessible regardless of age and ability.
The City of Troy’s splash pad is available at the South Troy Pool. You can also keep cool during the summer at one of the City's 6 spray pads, located at these locations:
The Knickerbacker Pool remains under construction as the City of Troy works to provide the community with a brand new swimming facility.
