City of Troy Launches “Operation Pothole” to Tackle Post-Winter Road Repairs

TROY, NY – The City of Troy’s Quality-of-Life Action Crews are hitting the streets in full force as “Operation Pothole” kicks off once again, targeting post-winter potholes throughout the city. This initiative, led by the T.O.P. (Troy’s Operation Pothole) team, is part of Mayor Carmella R. Mantello’s Quality-of-Life Action Task Force aimed at enhancing city infrastructure and improving road conditions for residents and businesses.

Crews were out early this morning, systematically canvassing streets, and alleys to locate potholes and cracks caused by the harsh winter weather. For the next month, Quality-of-Life Action Crews will be working daily, removing debris and filling problem areas with hot asphalt to ensure safer roadways.

“We are taking a proactive, aggressive approach—street by street and alley by alley—to address potholes across Troy,” said Mayor Carmella Mantello. “This is a key part of our Quality-of-Life Action Task Force, and I want to thank our hardworking crews for their dedication. We appreciate the community’s patience as we work to make our streets smoother and safer for everyone.”

With the opening of hot-mix asphalt plants, the city will be announcing a milling and filling paving schedule that will coincide with the city’s lead pipe replacement program. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to report potholes through the City of Troy website. While repairs may not be immediate, Operation Pothole is committed to addressing every issue to improve Troy’s roads.
