Billing Questions

Pay Online

Any processing fees associated with online payments are not received by the City, and are charged by the third-party vendor providing the service. See our pay online page for questions and help

Installments

City and county property tax bills are payable in two installments:

  • 1st installment is due in January.
  • 2nd installment is due in July.

See the tax roll document to lookup what is owed in taxes. You may also contact the Treasurer's Office at 518-279-7115

Instructions: The tax roll is a searchable document. Use the standard search option that comes with your browser to search by one of the following:

  • last name
  • account number
  • tax map ID

If you wish to search by tax map ID, you can find the tax map id using Rensselaer County's online Property Search site. On the property search page, please use the link below Public Access to start your search.

School Taxes

Troy school taxes can be paid with the City's Treasurer's Office or the City's Online service when they are delinquent only. Penalties accrue monthly after due date.

Estimated Taxes

If you are interested in purchasing property in  The City of Troy and need an estimate of taxes without exemptions, please contact the Assessor's Office at 518-279-7126 or 518-279-7127.

Request Copy or Receipt

Request Copy of Bill

A copy of a bill can be sent to the property owner at no cost. A request for a bill by someone other than the owner of the property will be charged $5 per bill.

Request a Receipt

Receipts for tax and garbage bills will only be given if the entire bill is presented with payment.  When the entire bill is received with payment, the top portion will be stamped “PAID” and returned to the customer.
