Knickerbacker Park is one of three major parks in the City of Troy. The park was named in memory of Thomas A. Knickerbacker. In July of 2025, Mayor Mantello held a groundbreaking ceremony for the brand new "Knick Aquatic Center" - which is set to open in the summer of 2026. The Knick Aquatic Center will feature an 8-lane Olympic size swimming pool, 3 splash pads, luxury chaise lounging, and a pool house with men's and women's lockerooms. It will be the first time in 10 years that Knickerbacker Park will feature a swimming pool of any kind. In January of 2025, Mayor Mantello announced the reopening of the Knick Ice Rink - also having been closed and abandoned for over 10 years. Under Mayor Mantello's Administration - our parks are receiving the necessary attention and upgrades they deserve. The people of Troy deserve to have the safest, cleanest, modern, and most accessible public recreation spaces possible.
