CITY HALL HOURS | The City Clerk's Office is located in City Hall. City Hall is open from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. City Hall is not open on these Holidays.
Domestic partnerships are currently available by appointment. Please call 518-279-7134 to schedule.
The Office of the City Clerk registers Domestic Partnerships with an appointment Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until 4 pm. Please plan to spend up to 30 minutes for processing. You can download the Domestic Partnership Application (PDF) from this page, or pick two up at the City Clerk's office in person. If you print the application prior to coming to our office, please print two but do not sign them beforehand.
City Law requires:
- Government-issued Photo Identification;
- Proof of Joint Responsibility for Basic Financial Obligations;
- Proof of Cohabitation;
- Proof of termination of prior marriages (if applicable). Please refer to the application for acceptable forms of proof in each category.
There is a $30 fee which includes one Certificate of Domestic Partnership. The fee is payable via cash or check at the City Clerk's Office. Checks should be made out to Troy City Clerk. No refunds will be given once the Certificate is issued.
Copies of Certificate of Domestic Partnership
You can get additional certified copies of the Certificate of Domestic Partnership in person at the Clerk's office or have one mailed to you. Bring or send a copy of your driver's license, a check for $10 made payable to the Troy City Clerk, you and your partner's full names as they appear on the certificate, and the date of your registration to Troy City Clerk, 433 River Street, Troy, NY 12180. Upon receipt of this information, we will provide a certified copy of the Certificate of Domestic Partnership.
